PLEASANTDALE GARDEN CLUB MEETINGS & PROGRAMS
2025-2026_MEETING YEAR
All Member & Board Meetings will be held at
the Pleasantdale Park District Building,
7425 South Wolf Road, Burr Ridge, unless otherwise noted.
Member meetings begin at 10:00 a.m. with a social hospitality time of coffee and culinary treats prepared by our members, followed by our business meeting and the scheduled programs below.
CALENDAR OF EVENTS
September 10, 2025 - 9 am Board meeting; 10 am Member meeting & Program
Program: My Favorite Things. Each member will talk about their garden experiences this year - good and not-so-good experiences. Members should bring photos if possible.
September 19 District II Presidents’ Roundtable Meeting, Glen Ellyn
October 8 - 9 am Board meeting; 10 am Member meeting & Program
Program: Theresa Hoffman from Ball Horticultural will talk to us about How Plants Get to the Market.
November 12 - 9 am Board meeting; 10 am Member meeting & Program
Program: The Meaning of Flowers will be the presentation from a speaker from the University of Illinois Extension Speakers Bureau.
December 10 - 9 am Board meeting; 10 am Member meeting & Program
Program: Member Holiday/Winter Arrangement Demo & Cookie Donation
Stephanie Dolton will demonstrate how to make three holiday arrangements for us to raffle at the meeting.
Members are also asked to bring 2 dozen home baked cookies. One dozen should be wrapped on a paper plate which will be gathered together and given to residents at a local retirement home. The other dozen will be set on our treat table for the members to share and enjoy. Please wrap them separately.

Program: Member Pot Luck Brunch
Every member attending is asked to bring a food dish item to share with others and to bring any needed serving utensils.
January 16 - District II Program Chairpersons' Meeting - 10 AM
Location: Helen Plum Library, 411 S. Main St., Lombard
February 11 - 9 am Board Meeting; 10 am Member Meeting & Program
Program: Member Workshop
Members Judie and Donna will teach members how to make garden knomes using clay pots. Members must signup in advance.
March 11 - 9 am Board Meeting; 10 am Member Meeting & Program
Program: Cook County Forest Preserves will do a presentation on Coyotes.
March 20 - 10 am District II Annual Spring Luncheon and Meeting at the Carlisle in Lombard.
April 8– 9 am Board Meeting; 10 am Member Meeting & Program
Program: Kim White will do a presentation on Women in Natural History.
April 20- Garden Clubs of Illinois State Convention & Luncheon - Abbington Banquets, Glen Ellyn
Annual GCI business meeting and awards distribution. Exhibits, vendors, and raffle areas. A luncheon and floral design demonstration by Janet Gallagher, AIFD.
